Along with other participating Centres, Porsche Centre Bolton was tasked with sourcing and restoring a 986 Boxster S with a unique racing livery, before competing in a series of races.
The Porsche Centre Bolton team selected the iconic bright blue Wally’s Jeans ‘Lucky Spark’ livery seen on the 1974 911 RSR. The livery was expertly applied by Porsche Centre Bolton’s Recommended Repairer Road & Race Restoration.
Once fully prepared, all the cars took to the track in a three-part dedicated Restoracing Championship at some of the UK’s most prestigious circuits including Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
Finally, the cars were judged in numerous categories including mechanical restoration, bodywork preparation, marketing activity and the fan’s choice.
Our “Lucky Spark” Boxster S (986) was expertly driven by our Parts Advisor Joshua Morris and supported by the wider Porsche Centre Bolton team.
In May, the Porsche Centre Bolton team got off to a flying start at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit, securing a finish in the top three and receiving 70 points towards the Porsche Classic Restoracing Championship.
In June, Josh drove equally well and managed to secure another great result at the legendary Silverstone circuit, finishing in second position, earning a further 66 points.
The final race of the competition took place at the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, where the team managed to continue their success and secure a further 64 points.
With a total of 201 points, Porsche Centre Bolton was delighted to win the Restoracing Championship.
The Porsche Centre Bolton Boxster underwent more than 12 months of dedicated restoration and race preparation work to secure the race series win.
Steve Webb, Centre Principal at Porsche Centre Bolton, commented: “The Porsche Centre Bolton car, driven by Josh Morris, has been superb all summer, with never a question about the reliability or power, thanks to the outstanding technical efforts of Dan Jackson, Danny Parker and Dan Bennett, under the guidance of project leader Lee Wibberley. You did the whole Centre proud.”

Unique to Porsche, the ‘N’ rating is given to tyres that have been approved by Porsche engineers in Weissach. Porsche Centres guarantee this standard by only fitting ‘N’ rated tyres to Porsche vehicles.
Advances in tyre technology mean that tyre wear or even mixing different brands, patterns or ‘N’ numbers, even if from the same manufacturer, could result in an increase in road noise and significant changes in shock absorption, steering and smooth handling. Your Porsche Centre stocks a wide range of ‘N’ rated tyres for all Porsche models to maintain your car’s performance.

* Data determined in accordance with the measurement method required by law. Since September 01, 2018 all new cars are approved in accordance with the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a more realistic test procedure to measure fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. You can find more information on WLTP at www.porsche.com/wltp. From 01 January 2019, all fuel consumption figures are shown as determined in accordance with WLTP. CO₂ figures will be shown as NEDC-equivalent values, as CO₂ based taxation will continue to be based on an NEDC value (derived from WLTP) until 06 April 2020. Fuel economy and CO₂ emission figures are only intended as a means of comparing different types of vehicles tested under the same test cycle. New WLTP homologated vehicles are therefore not directly comparable with any vehicles tested under NEDC.
Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Extra features and accessories (attachments, tyre formats etc.) can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel consumption and CO₂ values. Additionally, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, electricity consumption, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
